For the 2023 edition of Milan Design Week, Les Eaux Primordiales created an olfactory and sensory installation in collaboration with DWA Design Studio. Entitled Expériences Immobiles, the concept invites visitors to immerse themselves in the brand’s sensory universe.

A timeless space where two laboratory towers rise, inspired by the aesthetics of the industrial buildings of northern France. Their geometric form evokes the factory chimneys once in operation that Arnaud Poulain admired as a child.

The wooden structure rests on a carpet printed with microcosmic visuals by Tania and Vincent.

Through this installation, visitors can experience a unique sensory journey. The first tower appears as a maze of stills, where all the essences composing the latest fragrance from Les Eaux Primordiales—Cèdre SUPERFLUIDE—unfold. The other tower, made of glass bulbs and mechanical fans, places the visitor at the center of a singular olfactory device containing kurinuki* sculptures created by Natascia Fenoglio and infused with fragrance through a process close to sublimation.

*Kurinuki is a traditional Japanese craft technique. Its literal meaning is “carving,” specifically carving a solid block of clay to create an “inner space.” It is a more sculptural approach to clay work, where the inside of the piece is just as important as the outside.
